Collinwood house in Plano facing demolition

12 Jul 2016 6:05 AM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Below is message we received from Candace Fountoulakis, The Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, Inc., and Friends of the Collinwood House:

I would like to pass along a link to an online petition to Save the Collinwood House (Plano's oldest home facing demolition unless our city council decides otherwise in August).  This petition is similar in intent (non political, not a fundraiser) as the one for the Lakewood Theater in Dallas which was so successful.  It is to be used to help our council realize that many many people wish to see this house, first to be featured this year on Preservation Texas' 'Most Endangered Places' list, preserved restored and reused on the site where it was built. The city acquired the property in 2009 from the former owners who live in Highland Park (Sowells).

I hope your membership would consider signing the petition if you choose to pass it along to them. I would be more than happy to discuss this with you. My cell number is 972 679 7041.
