2016 Most Endangered Historic Places List Announced by Preservation Dallas!

The new Most Endangered Historic Places list is here! With so many historic buildings in Dallas having uncertain futures we have announced a new 2016 list highlighting important historic sites which are at risk. These historic places are irreplaceable community assets that tell the story of the city and its development.

The new list includes the following 3805 McFarlin (Williams Home) and 3756 Armstrong (Penson Home). The two Park Cities homes will be auctioned off soon.

Below is message we received from Candace Fountoulakis, The Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, Inc., and Friends of the Collinwood House:

I would like to pass along a link to an online petition to Save the Collinwood House (Plano's oldest home facing demolition unless our city council decides otherwise in August).  This petition is similar in intent (non political, not a fundraiser) as the one for the Lakewood Theater in Dallas which was so successful.  It is to be used to help our council realize that many many people wish to see this house, first to be featured this year on Preservation Texas' 'Most Endangered Places' list, preserved restored and reused on the site where it was built. The city acquired the property in 2009 from the former owners who live in Highland Park (Sowells).

I hope your membership would consider signing the petition if you choose to pass it along to them. I would be more than happy to discuss this with you. My cell number is 972 679 7041.
